Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

My teaching experience goes back as far as high school when I started volunteering to teach violin lessons to younger students. In my college years, I taught as part of Oberlin Conservatory's secondary lessons program in addition to teaching members of the Oberlin community of different ages and levels. Currently, I maintain private studios in multiple locations as an addition to my Musika students. My teaching experience as a violin instructor and educator has given me the chance to grow through my students' achievements and has transformed my life in a positive way. Read More

I have been tutoring for the past four years, and have experience working with students both virtually and in-person. I am not Suzuki-certified, however my teaching style does include a mix of Suzuki and independent materials. I like to teach music theory skills concurrently with technical lessons so that students can reinforce their practical training. I find that this makes the process more enjoyable, whether for young learners or adult students. Read More

Some rules applied, for example, to enter the classes, we agreed as a condition, finish the task of the school and to keep the musical instrument in good physical condition. When I heard to Jose (a pre-teenager in the shelter who at his age was already bus-assistant worker) saying that he could now ride on the buses to play the Cuatro and gain money, on the one hand, I knew that Jose had found how with the Cuatro He could have a form of life, what seemed to me an advance, but in turn I understood that I had to do a class exclusively to show videos of professional Cuatro Players with the aim of make them understand that people have a world possibilities of with music, beyond riding on the bus to sing. Every time I teach a student, I learn something new about people and my instrument. I end up learning right along with them, and I love it! if you are starting from ground zero, I typically like to start with the Suzuki method books, and learning by ear. Learning good techniques and is of the utmost importance at this stage! Once you as a student are more comfortable with the violin, then I like to branch out and incorporate songs and techniques that you'd like to learn, which can be anything that is within your skill set.
