I have been teaching private lessons professionally since I graduated from Berklee in 2006. Prior to college, I tutored younger students for 4 years in my school's strings program for volunteer credit. Many of my students perform in auditioned orchestras and ensembles, including those for college! I have been teaching for over five years, taking on students as young as 5 and as young as 65. ;) I have taught both privately, in duos, and in larger groups. I don't have prior teaching experience, but in the 10 years that i took lessons, I can tell you how important it is to have a teacher that understands the needs and skill level of the student. And i quote from a teacher that i had when i was a kid, "It takes 5 years to sound bad on the violin".
