I am a hard-working and nurturing instructor who enjoys working with students and helping them find their own musical voice. Being born in Dubai, UAE to a Colombian/Indian background, I have always had the opportunity to be around many different cultures and enjoyed learning from them in many different ways. In 2011, I left Dubai to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude in Guitar Performance. Read More

Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I strongly believe that music has the power to change lives, to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. I always encourage my students to ask questions as it not only keep them learning but also allows the lessons to be more interactive. I have also mentored several students for conservatory and private music school auditions. Read More

My love for the guitar and music, in general, is something I'm eager to share. I approach teaching with enthusiasm, empathy, and creativity, creating an environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and inspired. I see teaching as more than imparting knowledge; it's about nurturing creativity, building confidence, and instilling a lifelong appreciation for music. The joy of witnessing a student's growth, not only as a musician but as an individual, is a reward that continually drives my love for teaching. Read More

I first began teaching privately at age 15 when a wealth of younger and older students at my high school took interest in learning how to play the guitar, and write songs. I believe the only way to truly improve is to practice, and to enjoy the process. Learning music is like learning a language, so it is a process of repetition and study. That, however, does not mean it cant be fun! Read More

I strongly believe that everyone is very different. Learning styles and musical goals are very much a part of this. Some find reading from a book helps them, so for most students I begin by recommending "A Modern Method For Guitar" from the Berklee Press, however for others a book is not as helpful as listening to some music and watching someone play. I like to introduce as much theory as is desired from the student because theory is a very important part of the musical process, but if the student prefers to get playing first and understand the “why” later then we can work something out in that regard. Depending on musical interest, we can work with different genre's and pieces to promote specific techniques and practice routines. Read More

I like to start my lessons with basic introduction to the guitar as an instrument and its components. String names, how to tune, and how to change your strings are included. Scales improve finger dexterity and teach the students about moving up and down the fretboard of a guitar. Learning basic chords is crucial for learning most modern day music. (unless it's avant garde, or experimental) We will go through basic chords one by one and chord structures. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I usually start with the Hal Leonard andFJHyoung beginner guitar method seriesbook for guitar and ukulele. As soon as they can, I try to move them on to learning and strumming songs that they like. For more advanced guitar students, I also teaching reading and theory out of the Mel Bay guitar book series. For banjo students, I teach out of the Hal Lenoard Banjo Method book. Read More
