I started my private instruction practice during my high school years, where I would teach friends and students from my school. Through my musical career, I have taught students from age 6 to age 65. For me, each student presents a new challenge to find when it comes to what he/she wants to learn. Each student also has different approaches to learning. I do my best to cater to each student's needs so he/she can gain an excellent understanding of musical, theoretical, and technical concepts that will help them improve their playing. Read More

I am a fun-loving, passionate instructor who loves watching students experience the satisfaction of making progress and feeling accomplished. I have toured all over the U.S. performing with many great musicians such as Alasdair Fraser, Hanneke Cassel, Mari Black, and many others. I'm both proud and fortunate to have been featured numerous times on WGBH for "A Celtic Sojourn" with Brian O'Donovan. A regular night for me consists purely of doing what I love: playing music with friends at local bars or my own living room. Read More

My method is simple, teach the student how to enjoy learning music. Every student learns at a different pace and it is my job to show you the steps you need to get the results you want. For children I have a vast amount of musical games that will make them fall in love with their instruments and music in general. For more advance students, I will focus on your weaknesses, learning repertoire and slowly introduce reading and theory in a simple fun way. Read More

I strongly believe that everyone is very different.  Learning styles and musical goals are very much a part of this.  Some find reading from a book helps them, so for most students I begin by recommending "A Modern Method For Guitar" from the Berklee Press, however for others a book is not as helpful as listening to some music and watching someone play.  I like to introduce as much theory as is desired from the student because theory is a very important part of the musical process, but if the student prefers to get playing first and understand the “why” later then we can work something out in that regard.  Depending on musical interest, we can work with different genre's and pieces to promote specific techniques and practice routines. My teaching style depends on the student. The way I teach young children can be quite different than the way I teach adults. In general, I'm quite laid back. During the first lesson I usually assess a student's skill level and also ask about a student's music goals. Then I'll design a lesson plan with the student's goals in mind. Everyone is different and everyone learns at a different speed. Read More

My teaching experience began with my passion for the guitar. I started teaching a few students early on when I first was learning how to play. I have since then taught students with disabilities and students of all ages. I have around 1 years of experience with teaching. I teach modern, rock, experimental, metal, blues and classical guitar as well as keyboard. I like to make learning fun for children so I let them pick a lot of the material they would like to learn on guitar or piano. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs and will never stop till our desired success is achieved. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
