For beginners, I always start with Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. I typically will work with the student from the Suzuki Violin Method books and also will choose a scale book based on the student's progress. I often prefer for beginning students to play from the Hrimaly Scale Book. Later down the line, students can choose pieces that they are interested in, but I am always an advocate of classical pieces for fundamental training. Read More

Very calm, friendly and accomodating to students and parents. Every student is an individual personality with different background, age and ability and I use differentiated instuction for each of them to get the best out of them. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time ,from 2003,and have been consistently teaching students in my home and at students homes, for the last 10 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for the younger students, as it tends to help the student progress. Thanks to my studying of violin teaching methodology,I found that, there’s no ideal formula of teaching violin to everyone, the same way ,as ,there’s no ideal magor or minor scale, for practicing only that technique to achieve the best result, as people have defferent cultural and musical backgrounds, so student should enjoy the lesson and have fun while learning . Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I've been living in Manhattan for the last five years, where I studied at The Juilliard School with Itzhak Perlman, Li Lin, and Catherine Cho for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. For the last two years I've been serving as Teaching Assistant to Itzhak Perlman and Li Lin at Juilliard. I've had the good fortune of performing internationally as soloist with orchestras around the world, including the National Orchestra of Belgium, the China Philharmonic Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Weimar (Germany), The Lithuanian National Orchestra, and the California Symphony. Each student develops at their own pace. To improve quickly, practice is very necessary. To improve slowly, lessons may be what guides your practice time. It is up to the student (and parent). I like to keep the pace moving, but repeat as much as necessary to build a firm foundation. I definitely work with the music that you are interested in and want to perform. I help you to understand how to overcome nervousness and how to feel comfortable performing in front of small or large crowds. Read More

I like to keep my teaching style a balance between being strict but also patient when needed and keeping it fun! I like to have open communication with the student or parents of the student to figure out what kind of teaching style they might prefer. If you want to be challenged and pushed, I can provide more strict instruction to make sure your goals are being met. If a student or their parents prefer to take it easy and just have a good time learning a new instrument, I will also be on board with that! Read More

When I teach I always ask my students what I can help them with and if they are working on anything at the moment. Assuming that they are I will ask them to play a little bit of what they have prepared, just so I can get a general sense of where they are in their journey on the violin. After they finish playing I start by explaining what I noticed from a technical standpoint, so that this way they know what to be aware of and work on while they are in the practice room as it pertains to their setup.
