Instruments: Piano Violin Viola Music

I am a focused and enthusiastic instructor who's driven to challenge students while providing a positive and enjoyable experience. I am a violist first and foremost with eleven years of training, in addition to studying piano for thirteen years and violin for five. In 2016 I started my Undergraduate degree in Music Education at Ithaca College, and will be finishing my degree at Queens College in 2021. I have had the pleasure of performing as a soloist and in groups alike from small concert halls to Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Violin Fiddle

I began teaching beginner piano when I was in middle school and caught the teaching bug! (My dad was a high school choir teacher for thirty-five years, so I must have caught it from him.) Now I teach violin/fiddle, voice and piano. I believe that learning classical music and sight reading are both fundamentals to begin learning any instrument. However, I love to teach other styles as well! I would love to work with budding musical theater performers who want to work on musicianship skills and/or learn piano/violin. Read More

I have been a musician for over 35 years. I have played all over the united states for concerts, different private occasions, weddings, birthday parties, and funerals . I have also been a music teacher for over 15 years and my students love my teaching style. When I was young I had the best private music teachers in New York that have pass on the knowledge and tradition of good music habits. My role and responsibility is to pass on this knowledge to those that want to be the best musicians in their area. Read More

My love for teaching began as a peer tutor in college. I tutored students in piano, guitar, bass ear training, and music theory. I began to love teaching when I noticed the change and progress it creates within people. While in college, I taught at a musical theatre camp as a music teacher. I taught music theory, ear training, and vocal music. Right after I graduated college I was accepted into the music education program at Teachers College Columbia University where I received my masters degree in music education along with certification in New York state to teach Pre-K through 12. I began teaching at the age of 17 years old and started a strings program with the founder of Akoustikos. I began teaching the Suzuki method and I love to hold group lessons as it encourages and fosters healthy growth. Since then, I have taught all over Pennsylvania and extensively studied different teaching methods to build a flexible program that is best for the student! I also love to transcribe music that student's love because it has many benefits including fun! Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Violin

Voice methodology is to learn how to make the correct sound on the flow of breath.  One must learn how to breathe whether singing loudly or softly in whichever style or genre the student wants to learn. String playing can be hard on the ears when beginning, therefore it is important to develop a good bow technique in order to make the best sound possible.  I use the All For Strings method books. Instruments: Violin

Most importantly, I believe every student is different and I always try to avoid a "one size fits all" approach to teaching. That said, I'm a big advocate of scales, etudes, and technical exercises, as well as exploring repertoire (solo, chamber music, and symphonic). I encourage students to listen to a wide variety of music, in addition to their work on the violin, sometimes with weekly listening assignments. Daily, systematic practice at home is required of all my students (especially younger ones) for clear progress to happen. Read More
