I love educating and have been an educator for the last seven years. I first started as an educator peer tutoring at the college I attended. I was amazed by how my students progressed and changed over time. I was also amazed how their disposition towards learning was cultivated in different ways. This ignited my passion and want to teach. For beginning students who are children. I typically start with Suzuki Violin Book or Hal Leonard's Essential elements. Once the students has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce some repertoire they can perform. For adults, I try to find out what music the students are interested in and as teaching basic skills, I will teach music what they would like to perform. I believe that music is a universal creative outlet for expression no matter one's age, background, or level. I like having my students take advantage of any school/local recital opportunities that might arise as it provides great experience. My students get to choose some of their repertoire and lesson content as it makes it more enjoyable for them. I do require all students to play scales as they provide an essential foundation for all that they will play.
