I have also used Liytle Einstein piano method and varies products produced by Hal Leonard. I find the students goals are very formative to the approach I choose to take. Course Materials: I teach classical style music. I use the Suzuki books as repertoire for all students (I do not teach the Suzuki method though) and occasionally use other helpful materials such as Kreuitzer and Trott to teach intermediate students etudes, positions, and technique. Through these materials, I help every one of my students acquire the freedom that comes from a balanced position and relaxed motions. My curriculum is unique for each individual depending on their goals and age, however I generally start beginners out with Hal Leonard’s Essential Elements for Strings, and a few of my own exercises as needed. After they have become comfortable with the violin I begin them on the Suzuki books or other solo repertoire. As the student progresses I gradually phase out Essential Elements and replace it with elementary scale books and exercise books. Read More
