Hello! I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2021, I graduated from Penn State with a Master of Arts in Violin Performance. I also have a duel Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College in Violin Performance and Music Education. I started playing violin in a Suzuki method program, which taught me the importance of training your ear. I honed in my classical skills, and thereon pursued the unconventional in violin genres my going to Berklee College of Music. It gave me possibility to expand my ear even more with free improvisation, jam band, jazz, rock, funk, blues, pop, Middle Eastern and Latin genres, on top of orchestral and quartet playing. My teaching experience dates back about four years, when I started teaching private lessons after finishing my studies at the University of North Texas. I maintained a large studio while also freelancing in the Dallas area. After moving back to New England to attend Boston University, I began working with the Boston Youth Symphony as a teaching assistant. For the past three years, I have been mentoring the string players in BYSO's ensembles and helping them to develop effective rehearsal techniques. Read More

I like to have a consistent plan for all of my lessons, so that students know what to expect, as well as the best methods for practicing. I always start my students off with a warm-up consisting of scales or a technical exercise that relates to the piece that we are working on. I then go over the "trouble spots" of a piece with the student before diving into longer sections. Read More

I would approach teaching by making sure the student is comfortable with whatever i am showing them, and trying to adapt to whatever style makes them comfortable if necessary. Setting goals for the end of each lesson is important based on their skill level and how quickly they pick up the information. I will do whatever it takes to make sure the student is getting some sort of value from the lesson, and make every minute count. Read More
