Hi there! I am a Philadelphia-born, New York based violinist, violist, and composer. I am trained in both classical and jazz technique, and my music integrates a high level of precision with creative approaches like improvisation. I perform and record frequently in New York City in small-ensemble settings. I perform a combination of chamber music, jazz, and my own compositions. I have been teaching private violin lessons since I was high school student. I have also taught private and group/string orchestra with the Atlanta Music Project and Chapel Hill Middle School in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, I worked with Lessons in Your Home in Miami, Florida. As a college student, I performed in various gigs in the Atlanta area. I was active at my university in the chamber music program as well as the Emory Symphony Orchestra, where I served as the principal second violin chair and played an 1870 Scarampella violin. I teach from a flexible curriculum depending on the student's goals and interests. If someone wants to learn technique, music theory, songwriting, how to play Taylor Swift songs, arranging, composing, confidence, et cetera we will work on what is driving them to take lessons and learn! If the student is younger I will provide them with an organized syllabus and “fun” damentals! If they are older, I will help them find a way to stick with the music and accomplish their goals. This book introduces the student to the instrument in the most practical way while making it fun, and it has the student reading music from the beginning, which I find very important. After this, we go on to Suzuki book 2 and a scale book. Then we move our way through the Suzuki books and start to incorporate more complex scales and etudes. Read More
