I am incredibly fortunate to have access to the resources at NYU and to love teaching music more and more every day: I have had practical experience in woodwind, brass, string, voice, and percussion pedagogy, as well as music in early childhood and for students of all abilities. My teachers include Jason Noble (instrumental conducting), Paul Speiser (choral conducting), Kim McCord (childhood/special ed music pedagogy), Ethan Hein (electronic music pedagogy), and Christopher Bush (clarinet performance). The methods I use always dependents on that student. Everyone learns in different ways making it so important to cater to each students needs. I strive to creating a lesson plan specific for that student. I find by doing so that they are more passionate and progress much faster. I like to focus on learning technique, ear training, and theory through many styles, as well as explore different kinds of music. Read More

For beginner students, I use the Essential Elements for strings (books 1 and 2). In conjunction with these books, I select a repertoire that corresponds with their current abilities, and work my way up from there. For adults and more advanced students, I use various technical studies such as Sevcik, Kreutzer, and Rode, and standard Rep using the International editions. Regardless of the age or skill level, I always strive to maintain constant engagement and motivation throughout my lessons, whether online or in person. Read More

I have available for trial lessons are instruments (mostly violins one viola) to use! This will give the student a chance to really know if they want to play that particular instrument without having to go in renting blind. I also have a few names of rental places and would be more than happy to accompany a student for a fitting. I tend to use the Suzuki books as a base for my string lessons. Read More

I also encourage my students to memorize each piece of music. For the grade-school students, this can help them build the tools and confidence necessary to succeed in the classroom outside of music. Music education can be useful in all areas of one's life. Performance: I've been performing with the violin for nearly 20 years. I've played with the Hershey Symphony, Penn State's Philharmonic Orchestra, various chamber groups, and many types of bands across a large variety of genres. Read More
