My teaching experience began when I was in high school, and has continued throughout my higher education. Most of my teaching experience is with children ages 4-15, however I am comfortable teaching students of all ages and of varying skill levels. I am very interested in music pedagogy, and have taking a number of pedagogical courses within the last couple years, so I am able to come up with a number of approaches when taking on a new student, each approach catering to individual student needs. I love teaching the violin!!, my emphasys is in the real true and with love every thing. There are many ways to teach an instrument, one of them is from the perspective of visual memory, or I know, there are teachers who demonstrate first and then the student tries to imitate what he hears and sees There are also others who speak and ask for what they want without demonstrating anything, because obviously they are no longer at the level playing or because they have a condition in their hands or fingers, and they get things by speaking, making themselves understood by the word. I am an experienced music instructor dedicated to the success of my students, striving to impart to them the same passion that I have for music. In 2009, I graduated as valedictorian from Emmanuel College with a degree in Cello Performance and a minor in piano. My studies also focused on music theory, chamber music, and orchestra, as well as string and piano pedagogy. After graduation, I temporarily moved to teach music in a mission school in the Dominican Republic, where I lived for two years and became fluent in Spanish. Read More

My philosophy on teaching covers many bases. I teach so that the student may succeed. It does not bother me if a student desires to achieve some other goal than becoming a professional musician. When I taught public school my students had varying dreams for their future. It became clear that they needed me to inspire them and assist them in building confidence. To that end I help students get out of their own way to gain self discipline and drive. Read More

For pianists, there are so many different method books, I recommend for beginners Faber Method Series for younger beginners, for adult beginners we can start with Alfred's All in One Method for Adult Beginners. I have used Alfred's Series, Piano Adventures, John Thompson's Series, Bastien Series, Playtime Piano Series (also Faber). For more intermediate students I would use books that are a collection of different types of baroque and classical pieces, and First Lessons In Bach, and for more advanced students solos and concerti from composers such as Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, LIszt, etc. Read More
