In the first lessons, I explain the the beginner students the basic functionality of the instruments, the proper way to hold the instruments, how to produce a clear sound from the instruments and a Major scale ascending and descending, the one from which the first lessons or the next lessons is written. For beginner students of violin I always start with the suzuki method and alternate it with the "The new directions" method, while after 3 or 4 weeks I start with some repertoire according to how the student evolves. In the case of piano I start with John Thompson's methodology "Teaching little fingers to play", alternated with exercises of the book Junior Hanon for piano, I try to evaluate the student qualitatively before quantitatively at least once a month. Even hold the little right hand for help for the bow move, A lot times I need help left hand and press down fingers, Only take two or three weeks they will control their little hands .
