Instruments: Violin Viola
Similar to learning a language, the pathway to success and fulfilment on violin comes from the student's total immersion in the material and a desire to play. I bring an easy-going but focused demeanor to lessons to allow my students to comfortably assimilate the principles of violin technique and develop a love for playing music. Read More

I create custom lesson plans for each student based on their level, interests and goals. Typically I start brand new beginners with the basics, learning the parts of the instruments and the notes. Being a very visual learner myself, I enjoy using method books such as the Sassmannshaus series, as they are beautifully illustrated and help to capture and hold young children's attention. In addition to teaching scales and technique, I like to bring in songs that the students enjoy to keep the lessons fun and enjoyable. Read More

As a soloist, I was a prizewinner of the Nova Vista Young Artist Concerto Competition and winner and soloist with the KAMSA Youth Orchestra and Texas Christian University Symphony Orchestra. I have appeared in recitals throughout Berlin, Germany and in master classes with Dorothy DeLay, Donald Weilerstein, Brian Lewis, Ruggiero Ricci, and the Tokyo String Quartet. I have also performed regularly on baroque violin and participated in a master class with Cynthia Roberts. Read More

I have taught a range of students from kids to teenagers to adults on violin, viola, piano, and drums. I have taught at churches, summer camps, colleges, student homes, and schools. I have taught a variety of genres, but classical music is certainly my forte. I currently teach at Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn, NY, where I also teach students after school as well, so I have a surplus of experience working with students of varying ages in a professional and nonprofessional environment. Instruments: Violin Viola
I believe every student needs a comfortable, fun and non-judgmental environment to thrive. My main goal is to help them achieve their goals (passing exams, getting a scholarship, joining an orchestra, performing at school, playing their favorite pop songs at home, etc) and to enjoy the journey. I am easy-going and understanding but I expect all my students to practise from one lesson to the next and I always set clear and realistic goals. Read More
Instruments: Violin Viola Clarinet
I started teaching in high school, and I've been teaching consistently for the past 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn.
