I started teaching in high school, with my very own private students, and coached non-music major ensembles during my undergraduate degree in addition to receiving pedagogy training. As many performers do, I began as a reluctant teacher, but quickly realized that teaching is extremely rewarding and fun! I make sure that the students are enjoying the lessons while pushing them to play as well as they can. I am a passionate and motivated violin and viola instructor who teaches beginners through advanced students. I earned my Masters degree in Viola Performance from DePaul University in June 2017. I have been teaching at Music for Kids (a non-profit providing music at no cost to children in Chicago), and Music House School of Performing Arts. I have loved music for as long as I can remember. At three years old I was dancing around my dad’s office as he played Stevie Ray Vaughn. At four I was begging my older brothers to teach me something on their guitars. By eight I was teaching myself “I Want It That Way” on my MIDI keyboard and by nine I finally decided to play the violin through my school orchestra program. Read More
