I first began teaching as an undergraduate college student in 2002. One of my childhood piano teachers invited me to teach violin, viola, and cello in her studio of primarily piano students. A short time later, after being hired as an accompanist at a local string studio, I was hired as a string teacher within the studio, where I taught for several years. I am an innovative strings teacher, who really believes in taking my students to their greatest potential! I studied at Illinois State University, and am currently a cellist in the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra. I also am a composer in the area, bringing high quality repertoire to schools in Central Illinois. Allowing students to see their potential, has been the greatest honor of all. For the past 20 years, I've studied and performed with keyboards, guitars and woodwind instruments while exploring a very wide variety of music ranging from classical and rock to jazz and avant-garde. Expanding and sharing that knowledge with other people in a helpful and friendly manner is something that I consummately enjoy- especially if they're beginning where I once was.
