I am a very passionate and motivated instructor for not only music but trumpet as well. Im originally from New Mexico and began my career as a professional musician in 2015. I began playing the trumpet in middle school and haven't stopped since. Traveling has been one of the great joys of my time as a musician. I let the student guide me from there. If they want to play jazz, we will learn jazz standards, how to read chord charts, and improvisation. If they want to perform classical solo or orchestral literature, we will focus on developing their classical trumpet sound and increasing the artistry and technical demands of the repertoire they perform. My approach to teaching is centered around whether the student is having fun. My goal is never to force anyone to become a professional in our lessons. If you want to get to that level I can certainly help, but I am more concerned about having fun playing trumpet and piano. We will do a lot of listening homework as well, since listening is just as important as playing.
