I love teaching students music! Most teachers that are in this profession has to love what they do because we are not in it for the money! Music is a universal language and I have never known a person to not like music or not have a favorite song. I use music to teach my students about life. It lets them know that anything you do, you have to work hard and practice. Read More

My focus is on the individual student- I evaluate the needs and goals of my students and taylor my lessons to achieve those goals. Vocally, being a professional singer, I have a firm foundation in vocal pedagogy, so I can sing vocal jazz and rock music, as well as show tunes and operatic arias without hurting my voice. MyBoth my instrumental and vocal students have fun, but work hard and learn lots! Read More

My starting point for my students is typically having them practice posture, hand position and proper mouthpiece placement. After this has been satisfied, I have the students blow using a breathing exercise. From this, I have the students play the first three notes out of their Habits of Good Musician Book 1. Students will continue in the book and proceed to their daily lesson exercises until they are ready to play other higher level music pieces. Read More

I would love the ability to teach you and know we'd enjoy it! Most recently, I have 1 year of experience working as a Choir Teacher at the Aldines Young Womens Leadership Academy where I taught 6th and 7th grade choir classes during the day and Drama/Improv Club after school. It is required of me to make fun and educational lesson plans following the curriculum set by the school as well as keep up with any and all professional development provided including monthly faculty meetings. I like to first access the student and their proficiency level. Once I discover your weak points I focus on them and drill them to perfection. Once we have those down. Of course it takes much practice on your part at home alone, then we can move onto actual music and integrating all the skills you learned naturally into harmonious music.--There is no set way to my teaching style because every student is different and must be addressed with their own distinct methods and styles of learning. -I do not teach in the way schools teach their subjects such as history or math. -I learn the student before I can teach the student based off how they live, interact, and learn.
