I graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia in May 2017 with two Bachelors degrees in music education and flute performance. In my time there, I completed secondary band methods, elementary band methods, elementary general music methods, as well as my student teaching at Morrow Elementary (band and general music) and Reed Middle Schools (band and general music) in the Central Islip School District on Long Island. By 19 i had about 20 students from the age of 5 all the way to age 45, from beginner to advanced levels. I've performed in several orchestras at the college level and competed in a variety of fiddle contests throughout the state of Texas, most recently the Fiddler's Frolics in Hallettsville, Texas. I have been a volunteer after-school violin instructor in the Houston Independent School District (Roosevelt Elementary, Gallegos Elementary, and Martinez Elementary) and local Jewish community centers. I'm also very active in the Houston opera and theater communities and have performed in nearly a dozen productions in the area, often in small accompanying orchestras and as a soprano and/or actress. For students that are new to music I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, this book is really good to start to learn about music and the instrument, and then Suzuki method for repertoire.
