I have been fortunate to perform over 1,800 professional commitments in my career as well as teaching roughly 25 students. If the student is more advanced I will assign method books such as the Arbans, Clarke, and Charlier books. I also like to incorporate music the student is interested in and wants to learn. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace and is learning things that interest them on a fundamental level. When others are involved in the lesson it can cause a student to become self conscious and therefore effects their progress.
