I am a passionate trumpet player and teacher excited to spread my love for the instrument and art form to my students. I have had the opportunity to work with many skilled musicians in my time studying trumpet performance at DePaul University in Chicago and Boston University. I have experience performing in many genre including classical solo and orchestral, jazz and commercial, musical theatre, and new music. I believe there is no "cookie cutter" method to teaching so I tailor my lessons specifically to each of my students. I have found that having a strong foundation in classical music sets the tone for musical excellence for all styles, regardless of age or musical maturity. From that perspective I like to start all of my students on The Arban's and Herbert L. Clarke Method books for trumpet. As we progress, I will add other method books/repertoire that emphasize what the student wants to learn or to highlight an area the student or I think could use improvement. Read More

As a highschooler I was very motivated to help the young musicians of the Middle School. I would dedicate a period of my day to running sectionals and teaching students in the Middle and High School. Though I was never paid for this work, as I was just fine doing it for free, I learned much about effective and ineffective ways of communication in teaching.
