My favorite part of teaching was getting students excited and motivated to practice their instrument by exposing them to new pieces that they truly desire to learn. Also, when students were frustrated I loved to find different solutions to difficulties they had, as this would give them a fresh approach and allow them to improve at a faster pace. Hello. I am a graduate of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign holding my Bachelors in Music Education and looking for opportunities to teach lessons to students. I specialized on the Euphonium in college and have extensive knowledge of the low brass family, but can teach all brasses. For beginning students, they usually have books given to them (i.e. Essential elements) by their band director at school - which is a fantastic way to start. I think it really depends on the needs of each individual player.
