I was excited to complete my graduate thesis in December 2021, Music for Creative Learning. It proposes a specific teaching pedagogy that is meant to stimulate cognitive development, foster creativity, and develop global civics. I have had the opportunity to work with many skilled musicians in my time studying trumpet performance at DePaul University in Chicago and Boston University. I have experience performing in many genre including classical solo and orchestral, jazz and commercial, musical theatre, and new music. As a highschooler I was very motivated to help the young musicians of the Middle School. I would dedicate a period of my day to running sectionals and teaching students in the Middle and High School. Though I was never paid for this work, as I was just fine doing it for free, I learned much about effective and ineffective ways of communication in teaching. During college I would help the youth prep school jazz band by being a behavior role model, playing in the section, and running sectionals. Read More
