Therefore a student will always be encouraged to keep up on their technique routines and scales, but also to make music THEY find rewarding in every practice session. With older students I also like to transition into some more challenging arenas such as the Blazhevitch books. Though I was never paid for this work, as I was just fine doing it for free, I learned much about effective and ineffective ways of communication in teaching.
