Throughout my life I have been an active member of bands, choirs, and drama. In high school I was a part of every ensemble available including the Lockport Marching Porters, jazz bands, pep bands, and the top group the Wind Symphony for three years. Simultaneously all four years I participated in every choir I could, as well as the spring musicals, often with lead roles. It's easy to start with bad posture and breathing when you are just starting out and if kept, it will be incredibly hard to get into having good posture and breathing techniques. Helping a student become passionate about music is the most rewarding thing I can get from teaching. I set realistic goals that help the student progress at a rate geared towards the student's own pace. Positive feedback helps instill a desire to continue working and practicing regularly. This also pushes the student to wish to learn and work on more challenging materials.
