I began teaching starting in my undergrad, where I would teach weekly one-on-one, or group lessons to trumpet players in rural Indiana. Here, I found that I had a deep passion for teaching music, and that I would want to pursue it more. Now, as I'm pursuing my Master's Degree at the Manhattan School of Music, I am teaching young students privately, as well as in group lessons. I began teaching trumpet lessons while I was in high school. I kept a small studio through college, and currently have several students. I also have taught workshops and masterclasses around the country. In 2018, I taught a beginning music class through the Morse Fellowship program at Juilliard. I have found in my time teaching that everyone learns differently. In my private lessons I emphasize building a strong foundation in rhythm, intonation, and note accuracy.  I incorporate learning theory, and playing with musical intention into every lesson to develop maturity, even in young musicians.  My students are comfortable reading music, and have all the skills they need to practice effectively.  In addition, I have prepared many musicians for successful concerts, festivals, and gigs.
