Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. In 1977 I left teaching in schools and devoted my career to church music. I directed choirs and orchestras in several New York/New Jersey area churches for over 40 years.
