Since most of the students I teach are members of a band program, I make sure that most of my lessons are based on what is being learned at school. Planning an individual practice schedule is imperative for their success but at the same time make it enjoyable so the student will want to practice. The way I approach music is motivating the student to care about their practicing and to enjoy it. Moreso, to enjoy playing and performing the trumpet in a healthy way! I set a reasonable pace for my students as well as challenge them. I set goals for them as well as log in practice times to make sure they are getting all of the practice they need! My name is Chris, and I have been playing trumpet for over twenty years. I grew up in the TX public schools and was a two time TMEA All-State Musician.
