Hello! I am a trumpet player and music theoretician who loves teaching and sharing my knowledge with students of all ages. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Idaho's esteemed Lionel Hampton School of Music with a BM in Trumpet Performance, a BM in Music Education, a BS in Music Theory, and a Minor in Jazz Studies. Teaching has been an integral part of my own musical development. When not performing I was the resident trumpet teacher and embouchure specialist at the San Francisco School Of Jazz and have taught privately on an ongoing basis. Daryl began playing flute at the age of 11, as part of a middle school band class. His band instructor noticed his innate talent, and began to prepare him for studies at the Music Advancement Program at the Juilliard School. During this two year program, Daryl studied flute with Jayn Rosenfeld, played in chamber ensembles and orchestra, while also studying music history, music theory, and ear training. I graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers New Brunswick in January of 2018 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. I have taught music for six years at Montclair State University and Rutgers Community Music Program. I also have taught with Musika for 10 years. I have toured with my own bands as well. My first quarter Sight travel across America playing a fusion of African traditional music and jazz. I released 2 albums under that name and have had the music played on satalite radio.
