For beginning students, I like to start them on the Hal Leonard Essential Elements. I believe it moves at the proper pacing for young children. For intermediate students, Accent on Achievement works well because I find the music is more challenging. Also I require older students to know scales, primarily Bb, Eb, and F major being that they are the easiest to learn. I became a self taught student in brass and piano and later was accepted as a Music major to West Chester University. During HS I became known as a trumpet soloist in Regional and State Bands and in the Salvation Army brass program a cornet soloist. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BM in Music Performance in 2016, and then from the Aaron Copland School of Music with an MM in Performance. I love performing music as evidenced by performances with the New Jersey Youth Symphony at the Musikverin in Austria, and with the UMass Symphony Band and Wind Ensembles at the College Band Directors National Association conference.
