I am a third-year undergrad at NYU, studying Music Education with a concentration in instrumental performanceand I love it! My performance and education career began as early as my freshman year of college. I have been fortunate to perform over 1,800 professional commitments in my career as well as teaching roughly 25 students. Some performance highlights of my career have been performing on four national tours, playing two contracts with the Hershey Park band, recording with different artists, and of course performing with the Marine Corps and the Air Force bands. While I had spent my first year playing trumpet, I had switched to euphonium before I started my 6th grade year and have been playing that and trombone ever since. I spent my high school and community college years playing jazz music on both instruments, and began playing classical euphonium both in high school and when the ensembles became available upon start at TCNJ. Teaching is a joy.  The music is a gift and it is a blessing to share it with others.  I enjoy seeing students learn and pick up music right in front of my eyes.  Teaching is a learning experience for myself as well.  I enjoy working with others and use my skills/experience to inspire others. I have been teaching Prek- 8th Grade general music, choir, drama and instrumental lessons for the past 5 years. My primary instrument is trumpet and I have played in a variety of bands and sung in a variety of choruses of the years.  I have taught in a variety of musical settings with a wide range of students and abilities. I have taught independently as well as for organizations such as the Youth Orchestra of Central NJ. In 2012 I worked for Camp Encore Coda where I taught trumpet lessons, directed the Symphonic Band, coached jazz combos, and taught music theory/musicianship class.  My experience working as full time music faculty for Camp Encore Coda sparked my graduate research on overnight summer music camp, which has since been presented at three major professional conferences in the music education field at the state, national, and international level.  Read More
