I am incredibly fortunate to have access to the resources at NYU and to love teaching music more and more every day: I have had practical experience in woodwind, brass, string, voice, and percussion pedagogy, as well as music in early childhood and for students of all abilities. I have spent the past three years living in Miami where I completed my Masters Degree in music education. During this time I was an active trumpet player in south Florida playing with orchestras, brass bands, jazz groups, and quite regularly latin bands due to the popularity of salsa/latin styles in that region. My Bachelors degree was completed in 2006 at the Univeristy of Delware. I completed their music teacher preparation program, participating in both educational studies and a wide range of music ensembles including wind band, brass choir, marching band, and jazz band. They can span the range from learning a new scale to realizing that they need to clean their horns more often. I also try my best as a teacher to acknowledge growth and get students excited with every single discovery. For my beginning students I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Then we move to the "Arban" book and eventually start working on solo rep. Another thing I like to implement is the breathing gym, which not only helps as a musician but can also assure you having clear lungs! I usually try to do fun things for example if my student is young I ask them whats their favorite pop song and I usually arrange it or find an arrangement and spend a lesson doing that, or even teaching them to learn it by ear. I am a fundamentals oriented brass instructor who works hard to give students the technical abilities and understandings that they need in order to express themselves musically. I graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers New Brunswick in January of 2018 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. I spent my time at Rutgers collecting as much performance experience and brass pedagogy as possible in order to improve my own playing as well as my teaching. Read More

I teach one on one lessons. I go at my student's pace, if they don't understand a concept, I will help them. I will acknowledge their accomplishments and encourage them to keep going. I will do my best to inspire my students and want them to learn more and practice as much as they can. At the same time I will not go easy on my students, I expect them to practice and use the resources available to them. Read More
