I love to sing and have a passion for music. I have been performing since I could walk. The most common hindrance I find while teaching is the student himself. Before I address any other technique, I work on fixing the obvious. Either way it is so important to take time and look back to see how much you have grown, and to celebrate both large and small milestones. For beginners, I like to incorporate a basic understanding of pitch, rhythm, and theory to develop their skills as a musician. I use a variety of exercises to develop range, intonation, diction, and breath control. The warm up part of the lesson is so important because it is where I can identify strengths and expose weaknesses that can be improved. Once these have been assessed I like to select repertoire that allows the student to use their growing musicianship and skills. Read More

I have taught private voice/piano lessons for the 5 years. I have experience teaching students from ages 10-65. When teaching any student at any level, I begin with fundamentals in order to better assess their skill level. As other techniques are introduced, I continue to reinforce the fundamentals. I encourage my students to practice every day and help them to set goals for their practice sessions throughout the week.
