It is important that students progress at their own pace rather than comparing themselves to their friends and colleagues. I help them set goals for them on a weekly basis that will influence their own practice between lessons. My teaching expereince dates back to before I graduated undergraduate school. Since I had a semester to wait for Commencement, I was afforded an opportunity to work as a Teacher assistant, in an Open Classroom Learning Environment. This immediately preceded a very rewarding Student Teaching experience in the rural southern state of North Carolina. My teaching style consists of building a report with my student while really using their interest as motivation. I set realistic goals while also challenging the student to achieve success. Each lesson will start with warm ups and guidance on how to reach the daily goal. When introducing a new concept I like to demonstrate and then have the student try what was modeled.
