Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I am a very passionate and goal oriented piano instructor. I talk with students and see what their goals are and what they would like to accomplish. I make sure it is a very fun motivating environment and the student feels comfortable and that they have many strong points. I teach music theory to every student so they understand how to read music and get any answer they need. We work on the style of music they like and figure out a good balance for the lesson. At the beginning of our time, I like to set goals with my students. As we progress, we revisit these goals to make sure were on track and to see if any of the goals have changed. I've been teaching guitar for about 15 years, voice for 10, drums and harmonica for 6 and classical guitar for the last 4. Over the years I've learned that the best way to approach teaching someone an instrument is to help them learn music that they love, as well as presenting concepts about what is happening in the music so that a bit of theory and the mechanics of how it all works gets mixed in with the enjoyment of learning just the technical aspects. I first find out a little bit about my students musical likes and taste, or, with younger students, find somethingfun that interests them, just to find some common ground. I also find out a students long term goals. For instance, if a student seeks to be a opera singer as opposed to a worship leader, the training needs to be more pointed towards classical pieces and Arias instead of learning church music and how to engage a crowd.
