I became a licensed music teacher in late 2013/early 2014 after graduating from college. I then taught at several part time and temporary music positions before working full time. I also spend time working on ear training and overtone control as soon a I think a student is ready. The sooner they learn these elements, the easier it will be for them to learn more. For beginners, I put a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of music, such as getting to know the staff, time signatures, how to construct a major scale, etc. I will also introduce the student to intervals, which are the basic building blocks of western music. My chamber music experience includes participation in CIMs Advanced String Quartet and Piano Trio programs, and master classes with the Dover Quartet, the Callisto Quartet, Philip Setzer, Stephen Rose, Keith and Sharon Robinson, Jessica Lee, and Todd Phillips.
