I started playing in the 4th grade. I played in RB bands in high school and enrolled at Berklee College of Music where I have a Bachelor Degree in Composition. I also studied privately with Charles Banacos (increible piano and jazz teacher), Jerry Bergonzi, Joe Viola, Joe Allard ( whose Saxophone methods I teach, who was the teacher of every major saxophone player in his day including Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Michael Brecker, and countless others ) , learned circle breathing from Rahsaan Roland Kirk, recorded 2 albums at Grammavision with Al Macdowell (Bass player for 40 years with Ornette Coleman). recodered and learned as much as I could grasp from Don Cherry and Ornette. I have performed in groups such as BCJAS Quintet, New Yorks Most Dangerous Big Band, Dowling College Big Band, U.S. Sounds Big Band, Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra, Eclipse (Pink Floyd Tribute Band), and the Jason OConnor Quintet. Some of the notable venues where I have performed include the Berklee Performance Center, The Paramount, Treme, Port Jazz, Rudis Bar and Grill, Caskn Flagon, Regis College Fine Arts Center, The Shrine, Somethin' Jazz Club, and Le Frak Concert Hall. In addition to being well known in the world of classical saxophone, where I have worked with and studied with several world famous players, I have always enjoyed playing in jazz ensembles and playing clarinet in both chamber music and symphony orchestra settings. Music has given me the opportunity to tour to a dozen countries and perform in some of the world's great concert halls, from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center in New York to halls in London, Moscow, Kiev, and Tokyo.
