I like to keep my students motivated. I like to set goals, not only for myself as a teacher, but also for my students. The reason for this is that if the student is working towards a goal they have a motivation to keep moving forward. I grew up singing in the children's choruses of The Metropolitan Opera and NYC Opera, dancing at The School of American Ballet in The Julliard School at Lincoln Center. I earned a college preparatory diploma from The Manhattan School of Music and went on to earn my BM and MM at Westminster Choir College (a world renowned choral conservatory in Princeton, NJ). I do require all students to play scales as they provide an essential foundation for all that they will play.
