Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. For more advanced students, I place more of an emphasis on the fundamentals of the instrument specifically developing a warm, beautiful sound and establishing a vast technical facility. I studied jazz and saxophone at The Rhytmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and The New School of Music in New York. I also play trumpet, guitar, bass, piano, drums, and more. Every student has their own interests, learning style, and goals, and as an educator, listening to and really HEARING those is just step 1.
