Music has always been my number 1 passion, and I have taught private music lessons since I was in high school. Since graduating with my Master's degree in 2011, I have become a certified music teacher for grades K-12. I modify all lessons depending on the student to best suite the students needs and prepare them for the maximum learning experience. Read More

My teaching experience began when I was in college. I began teaching flute, clarinet, and saxophone lessons out of a music store in Upstate New York in 2016. This time was largely spent with complete beginners on their instruments, and it was incredibly rewarding. I focused on a balance of fundamentals like scales and long tones, formal repertoire such as classical and jazz pieces, and time for whatever the student was interested in whether that be pop, hip hop, or rock music. For beginning students, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, along with my own personalized sound and technique exercises. After getting a grasp of the fundamentals - depending on the student's area of interest - I will either begin to introduce classical solo repertoire, jazz theory and transcription or concepts of a style of music the student is particularly interested in otherwise. Music composition is also one of my biggest passions, and I am always willing to introduce the wonderful world of writing your own music to my students, no matter their ability level. Read More

I like to focus on giving the student a strong foundation and helping to foster creativity and a lifelong love for music. This means a lot of focus on technique and understanding musical principles as well as exploring different types of music and pushing creative boundaries! Read More

My teaching style is totally based on the energy and personality of the student. With younger students I try to be as patient as possible by allowing them to tell me exactly what they are looking to learn in the lessons. I then base my lesson plan on this interaction and build the relationship from there. I will assign tasks for the students to complete before the next lesson so that they are doing the work needed to improve their musicianship. Read More

My teaching experience started when I was still in college a few years ago. I start with new students by encouraging them to practice and study music consistently, as this is the best way to internalize and truly learn the art. However, I also help students individually by focusing on the goals they are trying to accomplish in their playing. At the same time, I like for students to have fun because it is the failure of the teacher if the student is not having a good time or willing to go through the trials of becoming better at their craft. The methods that I would typically use are the Arbans complete Conservatory method for trumpet and Cornet. Schlossberg´s Daily Drills and Studies, Clarkes method and Caruso. I have been studying these four methods quite some time now and understand not only the instruction on the page but the purpose of the excercise itself. So for each student and level a unique methodology would be put together. It is very important to point out that I studied these methods with masters such as Victor Paz. Read More
