I am a dedicated and patient educator with a passion for helping people to begin or further their musical journey. I work side by side with every individual, tailoring my lesson plan to each person's needs. I love to inspire people through teaching a well rounded course of study. From the years of 2006 - 2009 I attended Xaverian High School where I was involved with every musical group the school had to offer along with an extra curricular group called ISO (Inter School Orchestra). Together with the student, we have to create a non-pressure, stress-free, enjoyable atmosphere that motivates the student to view music and instrument-playing as a means to happiness and relaxation. That is why I like to play together with my students during the lessons, even if we play the same thing together, like tunes or exercises. Playing together is a great teaching tool and it brings the students an invaluable experience of playing with others, which many people today don't have otherwise. Read More

I start with assessing the students' capabilities, after which I begin to develop the following areas: Development of their sound; Instrument Technique; Jazz Improvisation and Jazz Language; Theory and Jazz Harmony; Study and Development of Students' Own Repertoire. Depending on the level of the students and their needs, I push certain areas more or less. The key to becoming a successful student is to practice, to develop a good technique, but also to listen to a lot of music to develop the talent for music. Read More

My teaching method is different for every student based on age, level, and their musical goals. However, the two things that I try to keep consistent among all of my students is a solid technical foundation and curiosity for different musical styles. For beginners, I typically start with the Rubank Beginner or Intermediate method book. Once the student has progressed to grasp the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce etudes and solo repertoire along with any pop or jazz songs they might want to learn. Read More

I've been teaching private lessons consistently for 8 years. I first started teaching when I was in high school, helping other students understand points about theory and improvisation. Music lessons have so many different things to offer to people, so I believe in letting people take from lessons what will best serve them. If people are looking to get more serious about the instrument, I'll focus on building a practice regimen with them, and methodically expanding their technical and musical ability. Read More

Music is a powerful tool in expanding one's understanding of academics, emotions, and culture; among a variety of other things. I began studying music in a performing arts academy at the age of 10. While there, I studied saxophone, cello, double bass, and voice. I continued to major in music throughout high school. While there, I studied within the jazz ensemble, wind ensemble, concert band, marching and pep bands, and saxophone quintet. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Harmonica
As I mentioned in the previous section, I started playing music in my early middle school days, as I needed an art requirement for school. However, I quickly grew to love music as an art form. In addition to teaching music (which I have done on and off for about 4 years), I also enjoy teaching in and of itself---I have worked as a substitute teacher, a personal trainer, and a martial arts master at various points in my life.
