Nothing is more rewarding to me that seeing a student make steady progress in their lessons and feel proud of themselves in what they have accomplished! I will tailor my lessons to what the student wants to ultimately take away from the lessons, and then I will help them achieve that goal at a pace that is suitable for them and encourages healthy, sustainable growth towards their desired outcome. After determining what the student wants to achieve musically, I will set weekly, realistic goals for the student to meet and to feel accomplished every week by the end of their lesson! Read More

For beginning and intermediate students, I like to assign short pieces from method books such as Student Instrumental Course and Rubank. For more advanced students, I will help them explore their particular interests, introduce them to traditional repertoire, and for jazz/rock/pop students, aid them in the process of transcribing the music they love, which benefits their vocabulary as well as their ears. In developing a complete musician, I want to offer support for my students' other musical activities, as well as provide them with resources that they might not have elsewhere. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2015 and 2017, I graduated from Peter King College of Music and Muson School of Music with Associate degrees in Saxophone and Piano Performance. I am current in my final semester for grad studies in Jazz and Contemporary Music at Longy School of Music, Cambridge MA. Performing across the globe and styles has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play with different artists both in Nigeria and Boston MA. As an educator, I'm a dedicated pedagogue. I like to encourage students to think, work, study, and practice the instrument on their own, not only in the class. My leitmotif is "I can't teach you anything, I can only make you think”. As a teacher of clarinet at the music school "Vatroslav Lisinski", my career dates back to 2006. My students have so far won 49 first, 16 second and 2 third prizes in the national and the international competitions. Read More

I believe on an emphasis of performance over theory; learning to make a kinesthetic connection with your instrument is most important in developing both a good sound and adequate technique. The value of a good warm-up is most important in establishing a successful practice routine. We are all pressed for time, so I help students focus on the most important elements of breath control, embouchure and articulation at the same time that they are acquiring technical facility through the logical development of scales and arpeggios. From then on, we can start on method books--I generally use either Essential Elements or Standard of Excellence--and some extra short pieces I compose for them based on their needs. I also spend time working on ear training and overtone control as soon a I think a student is ready. The sooner they learn these elements, the easier it will be for them to learn more. For more advanced students, I like basing lessons around repertoire, but that repertoire can vary a great deal based on their needs. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More
