Music has always been an important part of my life since I was a child. My parents exposed me to music at a very young age, so it was not a surprise that I chose music as my profession. I graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a BA in music, graduating with High Honors. Performance has been an integral part of my life, and I have given many solo recitals. Read More

Ive been also teaching piano for 8 years privately and at music academies to students from young children to adults at beginning to advanced levels. Working with different individuals always expands my way of teaching and my perspectives on how to share and teach. It's an ever-lasting renewing game. Ive been learning a lot from my students by exchanging my perspectives musically and practically with them who all hold different perspectives and different passions and goals, and I am grateful for that. In addition to my private studio, I have taught as a private instructor, both through music schools in the central NY area and at Ithaca College in Ithaca NY. I'm a 24 year old composer, pianist, researcher, programmer and teacher from Los Angeles. I recently completed my bachelor's at New England Conservatory, where I studied piano with Bruce Brubaker and Ethan Iverson, and composition with John Mallia and Efstratios Minakakis. As a composer, my work engages acoustic and electronic sound, composition, software and electrical engineering to explore new modes of human and other-than-human interaction. My recent compositions include "Bona Dea", a vocal cyborg comprising 12 singers networked by live pulse data and haptic feedback; and "Works for Strings and Datura Innoxia in Lunar Regolith Simulant", a set of string pieces I wrote to catalyze the germination of California-native flowers growing in synthetic lunar rocks. I always try to guide my instruction in a fun and engaging direction to keep the student interested and motivated to get better. I am able to do this by being energetic and enthusiastic about my teaching and I feel its important to make the material matter to the student. When a student has confidence in their abilities they are able to achieve much success on their specific instrument. As I also previously mentioned, getting to know what inspires a student and knowing them on a more personal level helps develop a better student/teacher relationship and thus yields a better outcome on the instrument. I like to get results as soon as possible and stress the fundamentals as they never vary. My goal is to eventually get you playing what you'd like to be playing as soon as possible! We need to be realistic where this is concerned, but your successes will make you want to keep moving forward! Getting to where you want to be musically is the ultimate goal for both you and I.
