Instruments: Saxophone
Hello! My name is Tae, a recent graduate of the Florida State University, known for our phenomenal college of music programs and I am excited and enthusiastic to share my passion for music with future students whom have either just started their instrument, have currently been playing at an intermediate level, or just want a couple of lessons to get a second opinion on their musicianship. I have been playing saxophone for the past 11 years of my life and the past 4 years at the collegiate level. Read More

For all students, there will be a focus on the fundamentals at the start. For intermediate to advanced players this is a period to both evaluate strengths/weaknesses and to establish expectations for the teacher-student partnership. For beginners this is the necessary first step on their journey as musicians. Once the student has a working grasp of the fundamentals, we will begin the work of putting together their first recital performance. Read More

I believe that music students are not "one size fits all", so I create an individual approach catered to each student's strengths, weaknesses, and interests. For beginners, I typically start with the very basics such as putting the instrument together(if applicable), posture/form, and fingerings. Then, I will cater my teaching materials to the student and their situation, which sometimes means the majority of their work is print materials. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet Ukulele
For the Clarinet, I typically use The Hendrickson Method book series with supplemental books on the side to enhance their various levels. For flute and saxophone, I will evaluate based on the student's level. Once I have established a method book, I incorporate solos and additional techniques. I also encourage the students to bring music from their band class and/or other solos they may be working on for festivals, competitions, or auditions. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Saxophone Flute Clarinet Bass Guitar Accordion Lap Steel Guitar Banjo Ukulele Mandolin Electric Guitar Acoustic Guitar
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. The first lesson i assess the student's ability - whether they can play, read music, and what kind of music they like. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their level. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I have a strong love of music. I received my Bachelor of Music from East Carolina University and my Master of Music from Anderson University. I have been playing the saxophone for twenty-four years. I have also been a public school general music/band director for five years. I have been teaching saxophone for about twelve years. I am a full-time school teacher and professional musician. I have performed at many weddings, churches, private parties, and music venues ranging from New York City to Texas. Read More
Instruments: Voice Trumpet Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I take a very detailed and analytical approach to music performance, and this is reflected in my teaching. I believe many students look at a piece of music that seems too difficult and become too overwhelmed to realize that's it's not as difficult as it may first appear. By breaking down music into its components, pitch, rhythm, dynamic, articulation, etc., and tackling each item one at a time, students who thought of music as a strange and foreign language begin to see it as something that just works and makes sense.
