My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 24years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 11years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. For young beginners of piano, I start with Edna Mae Burnam's Step By Step Book 1, as it begins right away with basic reading of notes and music. From there, I progress into the Faber Piano Adventures Series. Adults will start with the Alfred Adult Piano Course. Voice students are welcome to choose one song each cycle, while I choose two. Once it becomes clear what excites the student the most, I provide the nourishment and structure necessary for fun and progression. I custom tailor our lessons to their wants and needs. If the student has been playing their instrument without lessons I investigate what sounds and styles they apparently are drawn to and consider that when planning lessons. After I graduated from law school in Thailand, I started teaching 2 branches of KPN and I also provided private lessons to students at home.
