For beginner students, I will teach them the fundamentals of music theory followed by chords every player should know. During this time, students will learn how to handle, maintain, and tune their instrument as well as play both finger-style and with a plectrum (pick) depending on the song. I teach the fun way by teaching the student what they would like to know by tailoring each lesson to fit there personal goals, needs and questions. For beginning students who are children, I usually start with technique exercises that will help develop the foundation of their playing. I do not introduce music notation usually until the fifth or sixth lesson. I believe that kids learn faster when they beginning learning by call and response or like many call imitation. By developing first the ability to listen and play by instinct a student can develop a stronger foundation in developing the beat and noticing high and low pitches. Read More

I encourage students to always ask questions, no matter how silly it might sound, and to trust me to help you achieve your goals.
