For beginning children, I typically like to use the Alfred series of beginner books depending on the instrument. I also like the students to rely on their ears just as equally, so the other half of the lesson is usually dedicated to learning music without relying on reading music. Goals are important, but so is acknowledging a student's progress and accomplishment / improvement. I do not believe in negative reinforcement, I'm very patient. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Miami University in 2018 with a Bachelors of Music degree in Vocal Performance and a minor in Musical Theatre. I have had the chance to perform around the country in various ensembles, and attended the American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria studying in their Lieder Studio. At Miami, I performed in five operas, and performed in chamber and jazz ensembles.
