Since teaching was easy for me I've shared with students all along as I myself worked on my skills. I've had the joy of studying under great masters and I've modeled my teaching style around them. I'm eclectic when it comes to musical styles for I myself had too many loves. I'm trained in classical and jazz disciplines but have performed/recorded and produced others styles such as rock, pop and latin. Read More

For beginning students, I teach them the basics first, and then simple and fun pieces that they can master. For intermediate students, I start them on method books and more advanced techniques. With advanced students, I help them refine their playing and personalize each piece that they learn. This makes it far more enjoyable for The student, as well as more relevant. I know that this relevance is what keeps students interested and playing their instruments in the long term, whether recreationally or professionally. Read More

My style is open minded. I first try to know the students' goals and prepare a course of action accordingly. Then I try to know how much the students already knows and how much talent they have. That allows me to determine how fast I may go with them or how much I must drill and develop a particular skill before going on. Sometimes if I assess the student is jammed or stressed I deem it necessary to digress a bit into music history , philosophy and other fields related to music that work as a refreshing background and point of rebound to the skill part of the lesson while increase the scholarly knowledge of the student. I motivate my students by being interactive. With children who are new to music, I use my personal method, which is characterized by providing knowledge while playing interactive games, which helps the children grasp music-related issues. With the older students, I try to inspire them by playing duets, and placing emphasis on a variety of repertoire. I also emphasize the theory of music as an indispensable element of learning instrument. Read More

For beginner students of violin I always start with the suzuki method and alternate it with the "The new directions" method, while after 3 or 4 weeks I start with some repertoire according to how the student evolves. In the case of piano I start with John Thompson's methodology "Teaching little fingers to play", alternated with exercises of the book Junior Hanon for piano, I try to evaluate the student qualitatively before quantitatively at least once a month.
