I love explaining and sharing music with people. I love engaging with students and bringing them from their current level to a higher level of artistic knowledge and musicianship. As an opera singer, recitalist and musical theater performer-I bring a lot of experience and legacy to pass down to my students. I love being able to empower them to do their very best. I am so blessed to be a teacher and performer! Read More

I typically start with Alfred's Basic Piano Course if I'm teaching beginners, there are also Alfred's books for intermediate level students. It really depends on the student's preferred way of learning. There are a ton of great books out there to supplement teaching. I've also found John Thompson's series of books to be very helpful. Before I start teaching out of books though, I usually try to have the student write things down in a blank notebook of their choosing. Read More

I believe music should be a lot of fun. There should never be anything scary about learning something new to become a better person. I try to guide people through their musical journey as pleasantly as I can. That being said, hard work and perseverance are essential qualities for a beginning musician. Simply put, the more you put in, the more you'll get. I look forward to working with you. Read More

I began teaching music in 2013. At the time, I was working with a local music school, teaching Music Theory and Music History to kids aged 5-18. Three years later, in 2016, I opened my own private piano studio. The studio, in my hometown of Milan, remained open until 2019 when moved to Philadelphia, PA. Since then, I have been teaching and tutoring music students at every level; from grade school to college. Read More

After receiving an Arts Leadership certificate from Eastman in addition to my BM, I am a huge advocate for music in society and believe it is a universal language that anyone should have access to, no matter age, ability, etc. I want my students to feel empowered and believe that they have a place in the world of music, because there is room for everyone! I encourage them to find their voice and use the confidence they develop through singing to forward themselves in other endeavors, musical or otherwise. Read More

For beginning students, I'd introduce the mechanism of the piano to them to help better understand how the sound is produced through striking the keys. I will also start with technique-building books such as Hanon, Czerny, as well as some easy beginner repertoire for them to learn. for intermediates to advanced level students, I would provide them with a more sophisticated list of repertoires, or any pieces they wish to learn! It is not necessary, however, to learn chords or grooves specifically from a book for these instruments. Depending on the desired style, there may not be much use of notated music, guitar tabliture, etc. But as already stated, this does not excuse a good foundation in reading music and understanding music theory. For more advanced players (who would most likely be percussionists if working with me, though I am willing to work with any instrument at a more advanced level), we would work out of books I and the student(s) find fitting for their skill level.
