My teaching style is to connect with each student. I believe it is important, because every student learns at a different pace and in different ways, so the lessons can not be overly structured. I believe that all aspects of music (playing the pieces, reading music, theory, rhythm and history of the composers) are all important and should be covered in the lessons. Read More

I've been teaching for over 30 years now and have pretty much enjoyed the process all along.I enjoy sharing my love of music, encouraging and seeing students discover the many benefits of music, as well as seeing them develop through the years. I've learned over the years to focus on each student's needs and help them develop the best way they can.I've realized that even though there are universal ideas in how to teach ,each person thinks and functions their own way and as a teacher I strive to be sensitive to each individual student. I have performed at Carnegie Hall and at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC. Read More

For beginning and young students, I like the simplicity and clarity of the Alfred Piano Methods, which include a lesson, a "solo" piece highlighting the lesson and a fun, written theory exercise. I have a treasure trove of familiar classical pieces which I can transcribe to fit different levels. I also like the Hal Leonard Essential Elements series for their witty little tunes. I always come with crayons and paper, flashcards, games and other motivators to keep the lesson fun. Read More

In my studio and teaching methods I want everyone one to know that I teach all ages and all methods! Due to the variety of ages and levels that I teach, as well as the interests of different people, I think it is best to individualize the methods to each student. I customize the lessons to the age, level, and interests of the students! I do require some classical music for students to learn at all times. Read More
