I generally use the Alfred series for teaching piano. For teaching voice I may use a combination of books based on what style of music the student wants to focus on the most. For guitar, violin and clarinet, I use typical beginner books that introduce the fundamental fingerings, chords and notes for that particular instrument as well as basic music terminology. The benefits reach far beyond music, helping them with school, self-confidence, and many other aspects in their everyday life. I have also worked for a school district as a Substitute Teacher where I had the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects and work with a multitude of students. I started playing cello in the fourth grade through the public school system in California. I am classically trained, but I love all different styles of music. Music has been my life for so long and it is my passion! I started reading sheet music when I was 4. I started to learn Piano when I was 5. At age 7 I started learning basic Music Theory. At age 10, I began my journey with Flute and I have been playing ever since! After that I received a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas and then a masters degree in trumpet performance from the University of Texas at Arlington. I keep a busy schedule as a freelance musician and perform regularly with the Dallas Jazz Orchestra. I also do the occasional the tour with different groups.
