I prefer Piano Adventurers for the series I use to teach piano at all levels. Their series is clear and has the proper scope and sequence to teach all ages. I supplement that technique book with a book for finger independence. Hanon virtuoso exercises and scale. As far as my singing method books, I use an Italian technique for singing. The book I use often time is Vaccai. Mainly I use my ears to determine what the student needs to focus on. Read More

Once I ventured into music composition I attended numerous summer music camp workshops in Lubec, Main annually. After attending my first workshop there I completed and obtained a copyright for my first 2 original pieces - "Cruisin' with Chrome" and "Not a Care in the World". 5 more pieces will be submitted for a copyright request in late 2019. My classes are structured into two parts: the first focuses on music theory, while the remainder is dedicated to playing the instrument. For beginner students, I typically use a combination of the James Bastien and Alfred's Basic methods during theory sessions. Depending on the student's chosen instrument, I supplement these lessons with additional practice materials tailored to their instrument. For adult students, I tailor lessons based on their personal interests, ensuring that the learning experience remains engaging, enjoyable, and aligned with their musical goals. Read More
